Your neck at the end of a 10-hour day

One of these is not like the other.

Forward-head posture costs your spine around 10 extra pounds of load for every inch of drift. Verta catches it the moment you start slipping.

Without Verta

Slow drift, unnoticed

Your head creeps forward across hours of deep work. By 4pm your neck aches and you don't remember when it started.

With Verta

Drift, caught in seconds

A quiet nudge as you begin to slouch. You correct without thinking. Your menu bar shows a live score.

Features

Quiet by design.
Honest by default.

Verta doesn't yell at you. It learns your neutral posture, then shows you - with a glance at your menu bar - how you're doing.

On-device detection

Apple's Vision framework analyses each frame locally at 30 FPS. Frames are never saved or uploaded.

Your baseline, not ours

A 10-second calibration learns your upright neutral. Thresholds are relative to you - not a generic body.

Auto-pauses for meetings

Verta gets out of the way when another app uses your camera or mic. No pings during Zoom or Meet.

Stats that prove it

Hour-by-hour scores, weekly trends, per-app breakdown and a correlation between your posture and your morning pain score.

Multi-monitor aware

Glance at a second monitor and Verta knows it's a head-turn, not a slump. No false alerts when you're just looking sideways.

Floating HUD

Optional always-on-top panel with your live score, a compact camera preview, and zone status. Right-click to snap to any screen corner.

The live view

See yourself through Vision.

A face-mesh overlay tracks your head pose in real time. Dots light up red the instant you drift, green when you return to your baseline. Background blur keeps the world behind you out of frame.

It's a mirror that quietly tells you the truth about your posture.

The menu bar

Your score, always in reach.

A tiny colored ring in your menu bar shows your live posture score. Green when you're dialed in, amber when you're drifting, red when you've been off for a while.

No window to open, no notification shouting at you. Just a glance.

The stats

Find the hours you slip.

Hourly posture scores across your day. Weekly trends. A breakdown of which apps you slouch in most. ("You lose 30 min of good posture a day in Slack.")

Not surveillance. Pattern recognition - for yourself.

NEW in 1.1 · The pain journal

Proof, not faith.

Every posture app asks you to trust that slouching is bad for you. Verta does something different: it takes a 2-second pain check-in from you each morning, and after a week or two it shows you - with your own data - whether your posture actually predicts your pain.

1

Log once in the morning

Tap 0–10 on how your body feels, pick any areas (neck, shoulders, headache…), done.

2

Verta pairs each entry with yesterday's posture

A 1-day lag is honest physiology - waking pain reflects the load you put on your neck yesterday, not today.

3

Your personal correlation, in plain English

"Strong correlation (r = 0.72). Your bad-posture days are followed by painful mornings. Worth taking the breaks."

Self-reports over time, not medical diagnosis. For persistent pain, see a qualified clinician.

Your camera. Your data. Your Mac.

Verta has no server. No analytics. No account. Face detection runs through Apple's Vision framework entirely on-device. The only network call we make is Sparkle's auto-updater asking if a new version exists.

Posture age

What's your posture age?

A 45-second check. We take your screen habits and activity level and estimate the "age" of your spine. Most people are 5–15 years older than they think.

This is a self-check, not a medical diagnosis. For persistent pain, see a qualified clinician.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Still stuck? Get in touch.

Does Verta record video?

No. Frames are analysed instantly and discarded. Nothing is saved, and nothing is uploaded.

Does it work with external webcams?

Yes - any camera macOS exposes. Verta defaults to the built-in camera on laptops and the selected camera otherwise.

Will it track my shoulders?

Not reliably at laptop-camera distance - shoulders are usually cropped or inconsistent. Verta focuses on what it can measure accurately: head pose, face position, and drift from your baseline.

What about battery?

Vision framework is highly optimised. Expect roughly 2–4% extra battery drain per hour of monitoring on Apple Silicon.

Do I need to enter a card to start the trial?

No. Download Verta, try it for 3 days, and only buy a licence if you want to keep using it. No auto-charges, no surprise renewals.

What's the difference between the 1-year and lifetime licences?

The 1-year licence costs less upfront and lets you use Verta for 12 months - after that the app stops working until you buy again. The lifetime licence costs more but never expires and includes every future update. If you plan to stick with Verta more than about 2½ years, lifetime is cheaper overall.

Is this a subscription?

No. Both licences are one-time purchases. You won't be billed again unless you choose to buy another licence.

How many Macs can I use one licence on?

One Mac per licence. If you want Verta on a second Mac, you'll need a separate licence.

How does the pain journal work?

Tap a 0–10 score in the morning, optionally pick an area (neck, shoulders, headache…). Verta pairs each entry with the previous day's posture data and, after about a week, shows you the correlation - a personal chart that tells you whether your posture genuinely predicts your pain. Entries are stored on your Mac alongside everything else Verta records. Nothing is uploaded.

Is Verta a medical device?

No. Verta is a productivity and wellness tool, not medical advice. Please see a qualified clinician for persistent pain.

Refunds?

30-day, no-questions money-back on every purchase. Full policy here.
